UPSC Civil Services Application Form 2017 - Union Public Service Commission has begun UPSC Civil Services 2017 application form for prelims on February 22. Candidates can fill UPSC Civil Services application form 2017 in online mode through the official link given here. The UPSC prelims application form 2017 is a two-page process where the first page involves filling of basic candidates' details including name, date of birth, choice of examination centre, optional papers, and language papers, and the second page involves payment of fees followed by uploading of photograph and signature of the candidates. Moreover, according to the official notification of UPSC CSE 2017, candidates can apply for UPSC Civil Services Preliminary (Prelims) examination till 6:00 pm of March 17, 2017. How to fill UPSC Civil Services Application Form 2017 for Prelims


Check below the detailed information on how to fill UPSC Civil Services 2017 application form for Prelims:
  • Aspirants are required to apply online for UPSC CS Prelims 2017 through the official link before the last date of application.
  • The UPSC prelims application form 2017 process consists of two stages - Part I and Part II.
  • Part I contains the general application information, including name and contact details. After fill the details, candidates have to press 'I agree' button and a confirmation page is generated and applicants must note down the registration number.
  • Part II includes exam centre or venues related options, photographs uploading and fee payment.
  • Aspirants must have their photograph and signature duly scanned in jpg format (Photograph size: between 3 kb and 40 kb & Photograph dimension: 140X110 pixels) and (Signature size: between 1kb and 40 kb & Signature dimension: 140X110).
  • Applicants can remit application fee online via SBI net banking or by cash via SBI bank challan or via credit card/debit card. Aspirants are required to submit the specified application fee before the deadline.
  • Candidates are required to submit their valid and active e-mail ids as all communication regarding the recruitment process will be done through the aspirant’s registered email id.
  • The UPSC will accept only single application. In any case any candidate has submitted more than one applications, he/she must note that only final UPSC Civil ervice application form 2017 will be accepted and it must not have any errors and must be completed in all the respects.

UPSC Civil Services 2017 Application Form Fee for Preliminary Exam


Applicants of UPSC prelims have to remit Rs.100 as application fee. However, the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes/ Female/ Physically Handicapped categories are exempted from payment of the application fee for prelims.

UPSC Civil Services Application Form 2017 for Mains Exam

  • The qualified candidate can fill UPSC mains application form 2017 in online mode through the Commission’s website by filling the Detailed Application Form (DAF) and uploading the scanned copies of the required document within the prescribed time
  • OBC (non- creamy layer) candidates will be required to fill the OBC proforma along with the UPSC mains 2017 application form
  • The Candidates should note that under no circumstances will they be allowed to change in Centre, Optional Subject, Indian Language paper (Paper-A) and Medium of Examination they have indicated in their filled online UPSC Civil Services application form 2017 of Mains Exam
  • The online submission of the DAF and the duly filled in OBC proforma (applicable for OBC non-creamy layer candidates) along with the uploaded documents will be acknowledged electronically by sending email by the Commission
  • Incomplete UPSC Civil Services 2017 Application Form of Mains Exam or DAF and the online OBC proforma which have not been submitted within prescribed time limit or is incorrectly filled in or gives wrong code numbers in any of the columns is liable to be rejected. The candidates must ensure that they upload all the requisite documents before finally submitting the DAF and the OBC proforma online
  • UPSC Civil Services 2017 admit cards (mains) will be issued electronically.   • A Candidate mandatorily indicate order of preferences only for those services participating in the Civil Services Examination for the year, for which he is interested to be allocated in the UPSC Civil Services 2017 application form of mains
  • In case of recommendation of his name by UPSC for service allocation, the candidate shall be considered for allocation to one of those services by the Government for which he/she shall indicate his/her preference, subject to fulfilment of other conditions. No change in preferences of services once Indicated by a candidate would be permitted
  • A candidate who wishes to be considered for Indian Administrative Service or Indian Police Service shall be required to indicate in his application form for the Main Examination his order of preferences for various State cadres for which he would like to be considered for allotment in case he is appointed to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) or Indian Police Service (IPS) separately for IAS and IPS and no change in preference of cadre once indicated by a candidate would be permitted

UPSC Civil Services 2017 Application Form Fee for Mains

  • Candidates applying (excepting Female/SC/ST/PH candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) for Civil Services (Main) Examination are required to pay a fee of Rs.200
  • The payment can be done through depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using Net Banking facility of SBI/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card.
  • Applicants who opt for ‘Pay by Cash’ mode should print the system generated challan during filling  UPSC Civil Services 2017 Mains Application Form and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. The mode of payment through challan will end on October 19, 2017 i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants who have generated their Pay-in-Slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date. Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e. during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons, whatsoever, even if holding valid pay-in-slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available Online  Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 1800 hours of 20th October, 2017.
UPSC Civil Services 2017 Mains Exam Centres
  • The UPSC Civil Services application form 2017 of mains exam will be held at following centres. Candidates have to choose examination centre while filling the UPSC Mains application form 2017
  • The UPSC may not operate Centres where the number of candidates is very low. In such cases, the Commission may allot nearest Centres to the candidates. The decision of the Commission in this regard will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained from candidates
